Dr. Rebekah R. Shippy-McConnell, Ph.D

Project Manger

 

Dr. Shippy-McConnell is a trained natural products synthetic chemist. She brings a background in the design and synthesis of organic compounds as potential pharmacophores and has prepared families using a variety of organic chemical reactions. Her work has allowed her to gained experience working on scaling products from a milligram to kilogram scale for use in animal studies, pharmacokinetic studies and material products.

 

She has experience using microwave reactors, flow reactors, and autoclaves. Her experience has gained her extensive knowledge using common analytical techniques for structure determine and purity using HPLC, fluorimeters, NMR spectroscopy, Mass Spectrometry, and gas chromatography. With this knowledge, it has allowed her to be prepared for the large variety of custom synthesis requests at Obiter Research, LLC.

 

Rebekah coordinates the efforts of the Research Chemists on a multitude of Custom and Contract synthesis projects.  She also works in harmony with the Process Development and Production Departments to transition benchtop success to a manufacturing reality in a cost effective manner.
